New backstage building for the Waldbühne Berlin

On 29th May 2018 the new backstage building for the Waldbühne open air concert venue in Berlin was ceremoniously opened by Aleksander Dzembritzki (Secretary of State for Internal Affairs and Sport in the Berlin Senate) and Klaus-Peter Schulenberg (CEO of CTS Eventim) – just in time for the beginning of the new season.

The new backstage building was built for CTS Eventim based on a design by the internationaly renowned architect Max Dudler and was completed in budget and on schedule. SteadWay acted as Project and Cost Manager on this unusual new build.

The project was a challenge for all parties involved as the construction works needed to be completed in only eight months during the seasonal break between mid-September and the end of May. In addition, the Waldbühne, which is part of the Olympiapark, is a listed heritage area.

The new backstage building is equipped with high-tech facilities and provides changing rooms, offices and catering facilities over an area of 750 m². The new space offers high comfort levels, an airy and light atmosphere and views to the surrounding nature.
