KERB Berlin opens food hall at Potsdamer Platz

KERB Berlin officially opened on 9th May 2025 in the former IMAX cinema at Potsdamer Platz. This is the first German location of the acclaimed London-based food hall concept.

KERB Potsdamer Platz offers 12 local food concepts and covers 2.200 m² over two floors. The newly opened location provides a platform for creative gastronomy and culinary diversity with a sense of community.

Simon Mitchell, the CEO of KERB, explains why the company was keen to open a street food concept in the heart of Berlin. “Our vision has always been to reimagine unusual urban spaces and turn them into places where people can come together. At KERB Potsdamer Platz we have created more than just a food hall, it stands as a pioneering example of adaptive reuse, where a former cinema has been repurposed into a flexible, culturally activated space”.

SteadWay provided project and cost management services to KERB and was responsible for guiding the complex redevelopment through to completion. Commenting on the project outcome, Felix Behnke, Project Manager at SteadWay stated, “We are proud to have supported KERB on its first German location, a project that bridges old and knew, and demonstrates how intelligent planning and disciplined execution can unlock the full potential of complex inner-city buildings”.
